It's a modern sterling silver brooch created by a studio artist in an Art Nouveau style with very organic forms and lines. The craftsmanship is outstanding. It features beautiful, prong-set gemstones, including 48 small pearls in lush off-white and grey tones, 2 larger pearls, 16 emeralds and 39 marcasite stones.
What I love about this piece is its fine construction that has the charm of an antique piece, without the wear and tear. This brooch is in excellent condition and looks like it was rarely worn! The piece is marked "925" and has the studio artist's mark, but I was unable to attribute the mark to a specific artist.

This beautiful brooch is in great condition and looks like it was rarely worn. It's ready to wear!
The back of the brooch has a built-in bale so the piece can be worn as a pendant. The brooch also has a modern safety catch, which locks and unlocks easily. The hinge holding the brooch's pin also moves easily.
The marcasite and emerald stones were both tested using a Presidium Gemstone Tester. All stones and pearls are in good condition on this piece.
This piece was also professionally appraised by Ph.D. Antiques Appraiser, Dr. Lori Verderame.
